Manor Primary School, #HappyPlant grand Champions 2016 were the most consistent performers across all seven categories of #HappyPlant. They lead the way in innovation, creativity, sustainability and happiness and did so in the swaggiest way possible. Elvis Parsley, Manor Primary School's entry to the challenge is a Parsley plant, personified as "The King" - Elvis Parsley. Manor Primary were able to make Elvis as happy as possible, as often as possible, while showing true commitment to sustainability and innovation.
So much innovation, so much happiness and a well deserved win from the #CodeLegends at Manor Primary.
Al-Mizhar American Academy and their happy plant Diego, certainly put the US in cactUS. Diego is a hybrid cactus, which serves to reinforce their team motto; togetherness = happiness. Because Diego is really two cacti he can stay awake all night to spread happiness and awesome ideas about sustainability.
Diego missed claiming Grand Champion spot by a single needle, ouch! Al-Mizhar American Academy excelled in all categories with their best being happiness. What really sealed the deal for Diego were virtual hugs. Diego, unable to give hugs in real life for obvious reasons, beamed every time he was able to hug it out with a visitor virtually.
Innovation, check. Happiness, check. Jokes, check. Top effort Diego, you almost did it!
Geronimo, an exclamation yelled when jumping into the abyss is an adept name for the plant who won Most innovative Plant at #HappyPlant 2016. The abyss Kings' School Nad Al Sheba threw themselves into was innovation, they didn't just survive, they thrived!
Geronimo found ways to develop better, smarter and faster solutions to the problems they faced in #HappyPlant.Their incorporation of design thinking allowed continual improvement, refinement and conceptual development. Kings' School Nad Al Sheba's approach was never dull or boring and their plant's personality was electric.

Dubai National School's plant Um Khammas, was the standout social butterfly of #Happyplant 2016. Um Khammas was socially dynamic, always networking, charismatic and larger than life. A combination of likes, followers, friends, comments and the rallying of parent's had them floating around and around, spreading happiness far and wide.
Dubai National School ended up on more than double the points of their nearest competitor clocking in at 1.8 million. We have one word for you Dubai National School:
Uptown School and their entry #HappyPlantUTS showed the world that Creativity is not just painting and drawing, its using imagination to bring ideas and solutions of problems to life. Uptown School were able to perceive the world differently and come up with original ideas to make the world a happier place.
Uptown School was outstanding in turning new, imaginative and engaging ideas into reality. Not just stopping there, they were absolute show-stoppers at the Innovation Celebration with their awesome take on how to party like it's 2099.

If you turn to the word collaboration in the dictionary, you're sure to find a picture of The Oxford School, they're the definition of the word. The Oxford School's happy plant, Citra Uniqra, a Kumquat plant, revealed innovative ways to work together to overcome any adversity on the way to happiness. When interacting with judges at the Innovation Celebration, the students from The Oxford School, showed strong communication, negotiation and listening skills to ride a collaborative wave all the way to #winning.

Bobsun Vera, an Aloe Vera plant is GEMS World Academy's entry to #HappyPlant 2016. Soothing our skin and the Earth all at the same time, Bobsun has an expertly coded personality that spreads sustainability and happiness across the world. GEMS World Academy showed the judges and the community how to act more sustainably and why acting sustainably improves the happiness and beauty on Earth.

Happacino, the illustrious entrant from the Indian High School, easily secured the most votes. Many elements came together to take the Most Popular Plant trophy, Happacino was innovative, funny, interesting and most of all happy. We need to remember that it doesn't matter how funny, interesting and happy a plant is, if no one visits it, it will never secure enough votes to be crowned champion. This award displays an Innovation Team's ability to promote their plant on digital and traditional mediums. Promotion equals visitors equals votes. The Indian High School found creative and fun ways to gain a huge amount of visitors to their plant online.
Well done, we see future digital marketing executives in our presence.
Big Red, Swiss International Scientific School's (SIIS) entry to #HappyPlant 2016 displayed beautiful perseverance and passion for long-term goals. Their resolve pushed them to excellence even when adversity stood in their way. The Innovation Team from SIIS used the problems they faced as inspiration for improvement and eventually excellence in sustainability and happiness. They were the last to get started but did not give up and were determined to make it to the finish line. In life, half the victory is just showing up.
Good on you, Swiss. Say cheese!
